It's a...

Today, through one of the tools/blessings God has allowed us here on earth to discover and have, Kathleen and I were able to make our first visual contact with our soon to arrive baby! What a cool thing!

It's crazy how much more real something seems when you eyes become part of the discovery process. In all actuality, it has always been real, but something really clicks after you see an ultra sound and hear measurements of your growing child that you have yet to meet personally. We did decide to find out what the sex of the baby was today and also decided that we were not going to fight the urge to share the information with family and friends. So...

There it was.       Stop giggling.

He's going to hate me for it when he's old enough to figure it out!

If you didn't catch it... its your choice to go back or not. This was actually one of the first shots we got of our boy as soon as the ultra sound found him on the monitor. Its good thing I am not superstitious... or I may have taken the "mooning" to be a sign of my mothers wish of "having a son just like you some day!" to have come true. Thanks for the great first impression little guy...

Here he is in a much more

... umm ...

what's the word...

presentable!

A MUCH more presentable pose. :0)

Praise be to God!
and we can't wait to meet you in person!

Wee!!!

Avery spent some time on a "big girl" swing recently. Well... at least a "bigger girl" swing. (No fat jokes please. LOL.) The word of the day seemed to be French and seemed pretty positive...

WEEEEEEEE!!!

Practicing

"Hey... it's me. Avery."

"I'm just knocking out some piano practice..."

"I really can't see what I'm doing to be honest."

"All the keys look the same from down here..."

"Although... I CAN hear what I'm playing..."

"...and that DID NOT sound right!"

Wow. Can You Say Midwest?

I give you the Midwest...

Wisconsin Badger shirt... Chilling on a porch... Hanging by the grill... and keeping your country pride as well...

I'm not sure if the horrible hair do is Midwest or not... Honey? What do you think?

Some think that poking fun of Wisconsin is funny...

Others...

Don't see the humor in your words...

and you better watch your mouth.

Fun with Food

At our dinner for Jeff the other night I had a little fun with Avery's toy and Kathleen's dessert...

This happy hippo got to try out some awesome cheesecake!

He even found another use for the whipped creme!

A little new found confidence...

Then again... he wasn't even aware that he was even missing hair until he had it for the first time!

But now... now the sky's the limit! Things are going to go his way!

Goodbye and Go Get 'em!

Yesterday was a celebratory dinner for the guy on the left. Uncle Effery has gone and hit the road and now resides in Syracuse New York! There were quite a few people that came to dine with Jeff before he left. Too many people for this blogger's lame camera phone.

"Wait... wait! What did you just say!?!"

"Uncle Effery is leaving!?!"

"I don't like that."

I know Avery. Listen though, you are going to get dinner in a nice restaurant and you get to see family we don't see that often...

Like Mommy's cousin Alison and Uncle Ken!

If you're lucky... they may share their credit card! Really! It's her credit card!

I thought you might feel differently!

Besides, Uncle Effery will be fine and you will see him again soon enough! He gave strict orders to slow down the growing just like your other aunts and uncles out of state. Are you gonna listen?

It's Been a Long Time...

It has been a long time since I was present at one of these...

a Pig Roast!

If you just thought or said anything similar to "eww!", then you have probably never been to a pig roast. Dee... Lish... Us!

It was in celebration of a friends 30th birthday! It was a good time with good friends, good food, and "okay" weather.

We got to spend some time with godson Davin...

and many folks were happy to see the ever growing Avery...

and like most of our family... couldn't resist getting on the floor and playing!

The last time we celebrated with their family it was a celebration of a wedding and Avery was just a little bundle. How quickly things have changed.
