Big Blog Post for Such a Big Girl!

Recently, a young lady in the Z family turned in to a very big girl by doubling her age to the mighty number 2!

Before her official day actually arrived, Mommy had a surprise for her to enjoy in front of a camera...

Avery, needless to say, was excited at the idea of it.

Go ahead, Avery. Have at it.

Smells good, doesn't it?

Don't just stare at it!

Eat!

Ummm... okay.

This is how you want to approach it, huh?

Can I make a suggestion?

That's exactly what I was going to suggest!

Now you can make some progress!

Actually, I'm getting kind of jealous now.

How is it?

I thought so. I'm really jealous now!

Hey, why don't you try eating a little more than the frosting?

There you go! Go to town!

Keep going...

Go Avery!
It's your birthday!
Go Avery!

Alright, I'll stop the singing. :)

Really, though... you seem pretty composed.

Let loose!

Wait! Not that loose!

There you go. Back to hand to mouth.

That's better! Shovel it in!

You're eating the whole thing today!

What!?!

You don't think you can do it?

C'mon!
First of all, you're Daddy's girl.
Second of all, the cake is small!

Get to it!

That's my girl!

I knew you had it in you!

Second wind!

It won't be long now!

Just make sure...

that you get...

...every...

...last..

...finger licking...

...bit!

Good work!

Yeah. I know...

This is the part where the shame kicks in.

LOL!

I won't let you go out like that on a post about your birthday though!

How about a different cute pic of my girl?

Is that better,

Beautiful?

I thought so!

Happy Birthday Gorgeous!

Get Outta Here! It ain't Dead!

One of the days that I was off of work and had an opportunity to update the blog... I was actually standing near the computer and desk and opened the curtains to let some sun in.

As if to threaten me like I was a disoriented cowboy in the movies waking up in the desert after a rough night...

a pair of turkey vultures stood looking over at the movement of the curtains. Or were they looking and waiting for the blog? I'm not waiting to find out.
"Get outta here!"

I've been buried in my projects at work and the free time I have has me really struggling at times to dedicate it to the blog. It's not really fair though as my siblings are all away and deserve some time and updates as well.

So here are some of the things that are apparently going on in the house while I'm away at work most of the time.

Little Levi is giving the bouncer a try!

Of course it can't be done without the Wii Fit board and other necessary equipment...

Most importantly, a hot pair of kicks! What a way to play!

Levi isn't the only one entertaining himself while I'm at work though.
Any one want to guess who or what Avery is trying to dress up as?

An interesting combination to say the least, and is that...
is that a gun in her hand?

I don't know, Charlie's Angels?
That's my best guess.

But wait! They are doing things together now as well! :)

I'm going to take a stab in the dark here and guess that "The Princess Frog" is on.

Yeah. I know Levi. It's ALWAYS on.

Try something else. Maybe a little interactive playing?

Most days I do get a little bit of time with my munchkins. Usually it's not the best formula however as I am usually pretty tired and they are quickly approaching or have arrived at full on crabby mode.

Sometimes it just works out though and even 5 minutes can be enjoyed.

Again, the formula has to be right, but not to right...

I guess it's still quality time, right? Most days I certainly think so!

I think we'll make it. Projects come to an end and weekends still come around every once in while!

So, as long as my loving family will still be willing to have me when I'm available...

Life is good and a beautiful thing!

Even through the bottom of a Jimmy Johns table advertisement! :)

A Guest Blogger's View on the Man in Her Family's Life

Well hello out there.  I'm very pleased to be coming to you live from the Zastrow house!  If you haven't guessed yet, the guest blogger is.....the Mrs.  Yes, that's right, I am going to over come my fear of a blog post.  I decided to make my debut for a very special reason, okay, a special someone.  Mr. Adam Zastrow.  I am also accomplishing his goal of more posts and of different subject matter! ;)
Win, win.....right?  Now, on to THE MAN!

Yup, that's the one!  Lately, he has been doing a lot for the company resembled on his cake.  Everyone say it with me now, "Walmart!"  I hope he knows just how much all that hard work is appreciated.  It allows me to stay home with our kids, which I love!  Now there is much more to this man than Walmart however and I thought I would take a moment to share with you some of the qualities we adore the most!

It's really great when he helps out with a quick cleaning up.

Avery gladly accepts a hand with those slippery little pea's. Even though in this picture it look's like Dad is trying to help with a fork.... Pea's and forks are not usually the best combo. They got the job done together and that's all the counts.

He's the best at goofing around, even if Avery is pretending to be unfazed by it.

Levi always enjoys when Daddy talks to him and gets silly.

Rides in the house during cold weather rank pretty high on the list too!

He'll always be there to watch the big game with you!

Let's go on an adventure Daddy.......

and play with my doll house!

But there is one thing that both kids can agree on......

NO ONE, AND WE MEAN NO ONE, CAN DO A CUDDLY NAP BETTER!

Hey, he's pretty handsome too.  And the guy holding the baby isn't bad either! ;)

All joking aside, we love this man, husband, father very much, he's the best!  We love spending as much time with him as possible and this Father's Day we hope he knows there is no better one out there than ours!
